Los Angeles Zoo

This year we spent my birthday at the Zoo!  Jace loved it... everything he saw was an Elephant... lol.

This guy was just chillin... watching the crowd go by.

Flamingo

Mohawk bird

Seals

Tortoise... this guy was huge.

This one made me laugh... now that's grooming! Silly monkeys.
After Jace insisted everything in the zoo was an Elephant... we had to show him what a real Elephant looked like.

I love this pic!

Jace getting the best seat in the house.

Rhino...or Hippo... really what's the difference?!

Giraffe

More Giraffes...

Chimpanzees... these were awesome to watch.

This Chimp was swinging a log with his feet.

Chimp chillin...

More chillin!

A selfie.

Love love this pic of my boys!

Now it's our turn to chill... Jace loves his chocolate... insisted that he eat my whole ice cream by himself... were still working on the sharing thing... lol
Family selfie!

Overall I had a perfect day!  The weather was amazing and the animals were fun to watch.  My favourite was the Chimpanzee exhibit.  We could watch them all day.  So intelligent, one Chimp was eating a cucumber and (like my kids) didn't like the peel.  He managed to remove the peel with his teeth in complete strips like he was using a knife.  Now that's skills right there!

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone... feels great to be 25 ;)

P.S...

While my beautiful mama was visiting she treated me to a mani pedi for an early birthday present... arn't they pretty?!! Thanks mom... you're the best!

Harley Davidson Motorcycle Show

We spent Sunday morning at Ventura Harley Bike Show.  My little guy Jace loooves motortwocycles (as he likes to call them) just like his dad.  So we thought it would be fun to bring him to his first motorcycle show!  I myself don't think I could ever have the coordination to drive a Harley but I can sure appreciate the art these guys put into customizing their bikes.  And with my love for anything skull related... Harley fits right into that... there are skulls everywhere on these motorcycles!!

I do also enjoy a good ride on the back of my husband's Harley every now and then... as long as it's not a long one... your tush can sure take a beating if it's not properly cushioned with a rear seat.  That's right Ranz... your wife is officially calling you out for lending out 'her' back seat and never getting it back.  Now my fancy sparkly red helmet gets to collect dust in our closet.

Anyways, off to the show...

Kaia and Noah

1946 Harley... that seat does not look very comfy if you ask me.

Jace calls this and any truck like this an Ice Cream Truck... lol

This Harley would match my pretty sparkly red helmet
There were a lot of motorcycles at the show.  There was a tattoo competition that I never stayed long enough to enter... maybe next year?!  There were booths selling stuff, specifically a vendor selling cute jewellery... specifically a ring and bracelet that were shaped in a rose (hint hint Ranz;)  Super cute pieces that I am now kicking myself for not buying.  Now I'm on the hunt to find it again.

Anyone that spots this needs to let me know :)

We headed out to Bartel's Harley shop next to stick with the theme of our day...

Bought Jace a lunch backpack... Jace's teacher will probably find this quite distracting at meal times but I just could not resist the cuteness (sorry Veronika).
